Lingshi Laya Lunana is definitely the longest and most challenging alpine trek to be hand in Bhutan. In 18 days of vigorous walking (an average of 20kms a day) 365kms of mule track including 11 passes, of which 3 are over 5000m are covered. It desired, arrangements for climbing 2 peaks, on this route, can be made. This trek route offers a lot tough walks a dazzling range of alpine flowers and vegetation herds of rare species of animals, awe inspiring sights of snow capped mountains communities of unique mountain people dreamlike lakes wedged between cliffs etc. it has something for everyone. The trek route passes through the tiny villages of the different mountain tribesmen of Lingshi, Laya and Lunana. Though fixed in their ways of life and impervious to modernization, they are not averse to welcoming visitors. Along the route, one is likely to see plenty of wild life. The best treat, in this context, is to see the blue sheep or the taking. Of snow leopards, one should be satisfied with seeing their pugmarks on the snow. Flowers ranging from several varieties of rhododendrons (national flower of Bhutan) to blue poppies bloom in abundance on this route. There is nothing like the snowman trek to see and appreciate the bounty of nature and understand our place in it.
