Mount Ganesh 7429m. is one of the beautiful mountains in the 7000m which lies to the northwest of Kathmandu valley and east of Langtang Himal. This easily visible on a clear day from Kathmandu city. Some of the peaks of Mount Ganesh Himal lie on the boarder with Tibet. Although, the peaks are of no height of more than 7500m. the Mount Ganesh Himal enjoys great vertical relief over the nearby valley, specially Mount Ganesh II 7111m and Mount Ganesh III 7110m. The highest peak in Ganesh Himal is Mount Ganesh I (Yangra). The first successful ascent took place in 1955 by a Franco-Swiss Expedition team via the Southeast Ridge. Mount Ganesh II is notable for its exceptional steep rise above local terrain rising 5800m. from Burhi Gandaki in a horizontal distance of about 16km. There were several unsuccessful attempts on this peak from 1950s and finally, submitted in 1981 via Northeast spur (drive) and NorthFace.
